Structure. Participants are invited to develop individual designs to be casted in iron and to examine the role of an artist in contemporary society, in the given context. There will be several excursions and field trips during the symposium: Town of Jicin and baroque landscape composition, Foundry of AGS Jicin, its history and production, Prague National Gallery - contemporary art collections and City tour to provide the participants with an insight into the historical and contemporary cultural environment. First part of the symposium will be focused on designing process, materialization of an idea and model building. There will be a space to consult and discuss with guests / visiting critics. Participants will have a chance to assist an iron melting cupola / furnace building. Next step is individual sand-molds production. Final (very spectacular) stage is iron casting and public presentation of all art pieces. Final presentation – exhibition - will become a part of "Kolej v jednom kole" annual interdisciplinary festival (music, theatre, fine arts). Virtual presentation is planned for the internet (and eventually printed catalogue). Media support - regular reports + special coverage (local and national newspapers, radio and TV).
